The Day Trading Fantasy.
Hey Traders,
Hope everyone is doing well, one thing i always hear people talk about is the dream to quit their job and trade full time in the markets. Its something that even I must admit always wanted and indeed get a chance to do.
After being a full time trader for 2 years let me tell you, its not all its cracked up to be. If you think your gonad travel the world, spend your days on the beaches well, best of luck. Am i saying it is not possible? No, im saying its unrealistic to think you will get there over night or really within a couple of years.
There is so much "trader porn" out there people promising you you can live the good life, travel the world work 2 hours a day and make hundreds of thousands of dollars ITS ALL BS.
When I was trading full time, I watched the market almost all day, I studied charts, I replayed the markets, I analyzed every single one of my trades. I traded at midnight and the mornings. It was the complete opposite of what I was hoping for.
The best thing I did in my trading career is having another hobby or job or way of keeping myself busy and a way of earning extra income. A way to step away from the markets, screens and inner thoughts that cloud your judgment. Getting away from the home office and into society. No matter what happened that day it was out of my mind and tmr was a new day with new opportunity.
I believe this saved my trading career and gave me a new appreciation for it all.
